This drummer turned Chef started his culinary career in 1991 after he found himself hungry trying to make it in a full time Rock & Roll band.

Birmingham, Alabama 1991...

Chef Scott Berg at Vincent’s Market thought that he would make a good cook from the things he talked about, and the passion for cooking shared by his entire family. The Gourmet Grocery store, with its large kitchen and bakery would provide the perfect learning environment for this newcomer to the industry.

After spending the next several years in all areas of the operation and working with some of the best young Chef’s in the area, he was given the chance to go and open 22 Vincent’s Markets and Southern Kitchens throughout the southeast, provide all food service for The Bruno’s Memorial Classic Senior PGA event, held at Grey Stone in Birmingham, and Olympic Soccer in Birmingham in 1996.

Then, in 2000, Northwest Arkansas came calling...

The Market at Pinnacle was looking for a Sous Chef and brought him to the area and he quickly became a local favorite. After 5 great years, The Blessings Golf Club offered the Executive Chef/F&B Director position. This, without a doubt, was the single greatest learning experience of this Chef’s career. Mr. Tyson made him a better leader and Chef.

 

• Two years later came the Soul Restaurant and Lounge, co-owned by the Chef.

• 2 ½ years as Executive Chef F&B Director Springdale Country Club, Springdale Arkansas

• Corporate Executive Chef Tankersley Foods

 

Twenty wonderful years in Northwest Arkansas has blessed him with a beautiful wife, Miranda, and a handsome 17 year old son, Noah Jarrett. Brought local recognition from several T.V. gigs, including the 4 year run of Bring the Cuisine on Jones Television, Cooking with Soul on the Fox News Edge, over 250 episdoes of Cooking Today on NBC and most recently Cook With Brooks on AETN.

Jana Gardner has served as the Corporate Dietitian and Healthcare Specialist at Tankersley Foodservice since 2011. Her 25+ years of experience include contract food service management working for Marriott Management Services, Sodexo, and Aramark as a food service director in healthcare, corporate dining, catering, and retail operations management. She also has experience teaching college classes in health, foods, and nutrition and working as a nutrition consultant in Long Term Care.  Gardner received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University in Home Economics Education and Community Services and a M.S. degree from OSU in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. Sher earned her Registered Dietitian certification through the University of Central Oklahoma. Gardner is a certified ServSafe instructor. In her spare time, Gardner serves as a Volunteer 4-H Leader, she serves on the Fayetteville National Cemetery Advisory Committee, and is the proud mother of four children.  Gardner resides in Fayetteville.

Executive Chef

This drummer turned Chef started his culinary career in 1991 after he found himself hungry trying to make it in a full time Rock & Roll band.

Birmingham, Alabama 1991...

Chef Scott Berg at Vincent’s Market thought that he would make a good cook from the things he talked about, and the passion for cooking shared by his entire family. The Gourmet Grocery store, with its large kitchen and bakery would provide the perfect learning environment for this newcomer to the industry.

After spending the next several years in all areas of the operation and working with some of the best young Chef’s in the area, he was given the chance to go and open 22 Vincent’s Markets and Southern Kitchens throughout the southeast, provide all food service for The Bruno’s Memorial Classic Senior PGA event, held at Grey Stone in Birmingham, and Olympic Soccer in Birmingham in 1996.

Then, in 2000, Northwest Arkansas came calling...

The Market at Pinnacle was looking for a Sous Chef and brought him to the area and he quickly became a local favorite. After 5 great years, The Blessings Golf Club offered the Executive Chef/F&B Director position. This, without a doubt, was the single greatest learning experience of this Chef’s career. Mr. Tyson made him a better leader and Chef.

 

• Two years later came the Soul Restaurant and Lounge, co-owned by the Chef.

• 2 ½ years as Executive Chef F&B Director Springdale Country Club, Springdale Arkansas

• Corporate Executive Chef Tankersley Foods

 

Twenty wonderful years in Northwest Arkansas has blessed him with a beautiful wife, Miranda, and a handsome 17 year old son, Noah Jarrett. Brought local recognition from several T.V. gigs, including the 4 year run of Bring the Cuisine on Jones Television, Cooking with Soul on the Fox News Edge, over 250 episodes of Cooking Today on NBC and most recently Cook With Brooks on AETN.

Jana Gardner

Tankersley’s registered dietitian

Jana Gardner has served as the Corporate Dietitian and Healthcare Specialist at Tankersley Foodservice since 2011. Her 25+ years of experience include contract food service management working for Marriott Management Services, Sodexo, and Aramark as a food service director in healthcare, corporate dining, catering, and retail operations management. She also has experience teaching college classes in health, foods, and nutrition and working as a nutrition consultant in Long Term Care.  Gardner received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University in Home Economics Education and Community Services and a M.S. degree from OSU in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. Sher earned her Registered Dietitian certification through the University of Central Oklahoma. Gardner is a certified ServSafe instructor. In her spare time, Gardner serves as a Volunteer 4-H Leader, she serves on the Fayetteville National Cemetery Advisory Committee, and is the proud mother of four children.  Gardner resides in Fayetteville.
